2. Biography
2.1. Background
Garona Graufels was born to a fierce half-orc warrior father and a compassionate human healer mother, who lived together in a small village on the outskirts of a sprawling city. From a young age, she was trained in the art of combat, learning to wield weapons with a blend of skill and ferocity that honored both sides of her heritage. Her mother instilled in her a sense of empathy and the healing arts, while her father taught her the value of strength, honor, and unyielding resolve. But this idyllic life was shattered when a band of marauders attacked their village. Garona fought fiercely to defend her home, but despite her efforts, she was overpowered, captured, and sold into slavery.
Thrown into the brutal world of gladiatorial combat, Garona’s indomitable spirit kept her alive. She battled her captors’ chosen fighters with relentless fury, earning the grim nickname “the Stonebreaker” for her ability to crush the bones of those who faced her in the arena. The roars of bloodthirsty crowds became a constant in her life, yet behind her warrior’s facade, Garona’s heart was burdened by the memories of her parents and the village she had failed to protect. Every victory she claimed was a hollow one, her triumphs in the pit a poor substitute for the freedom she once knew.
When Garona was eventually sold to the infernal overseers of Dis, the second layer of the Nine Hells, her spirit was tested like never before. The stench of brimstone, the crackling fires, and the agonized screams of the damned filled her waking hours. Yet, even as her body was pushed to its limits, Garona clung fiercely to the hope of one day escaping. Each night, as she lay in her cold, dark cell, she remembered her parents’ teachings: the strength to protect and the compassion to heal. She vowed that if she ever broke free, she would return to the world above to honor their memory by fighting for the freedom of others who could not fight for themselves.
