As Strahd’s loyal chamberlain and enforcer, Rahadin was both feared and respected, a paragon of ruthless efficiency and unwavering loyalty. However, when Strahd was ultimately imprisoned and sealed away, Rahadin’s world shattered. Bereft of his master’s dark presence, he fell into a deep despair, his once-unyielding hope now crushed under the weight of an uncertain eternity. Faced with the void left by Strahd’s absence, Rahadin made a fateful decision: he would ascend to the role of the first vampire himself, to honor his master’s legacy and fill the power vacuum left behind.
Determined to overcome the inherent weaknesses of vampires, Rahadin delved into forbidden knowledge and dark rituals. His most ambitious endeavor was a ritual designed to eliminate the vampires’ vulnerability to fire. To fuel this dark magic, he kidnapped children from Waterdeep and surrounding villages, believing their innocent blood held the key to his invincibility. As he delved deeper into these malevolent practices, Rahadin’s mind began to unravel. The once disciplined and calculated lieutenant of Strahd descended into madness, consumed by the darkness he had embraced.
Rahadin’s reign of terror might have continued unchecked if not for the intervention of a valiant adventuring party known as the Deam. United by a sense of justice and a desire to end Rahadin’s atrocities, they confronted him in the heart of his lair. After a fierce and grueling battle, the Deam managed to stop Rahadin before he could complete his horrific transformation. Though Rahadin’s fall came too late for many, the courage and determination of the Deam ensured that his twisted ambitions were forever thwarted, bringing a measure of peace to the lands he had terrorized.

After luring away the ogres guarding the area, they discovered a secret underground cave battlemap omitted beneath the ruins. There, they encountered Rahadin, a powerful vampire and former right-hand of Lord Strahd von Zarovich himself. With ruthless determination, they defeated Rahadin and rescued the children. Additionally, Rahadin’s servant, Pidlwick II, chose to accompany them. They returned a defeated werewolf named Halfdan to Waterdeep, where he was healed by the local priest. Halfdan and his wife Frieda pledged their allegiance to the group in gratitude.
