Drasilgard

Profile

Description:
Drasilgard is the immense capital of the realm of Yggdravia, the ancient kingdom of the Stone Giants. Built around their greatest sanctuary – Yggdrasil, the divine tree – the city stands as a monumental testament to ancient power and unshakable endurance. It is ruled by the current Jarl, Sigurd Ironfoot, whose iron will is as unyielding as the walls of his city. The roots of the tree dig deep into the black basalt cliffs, while its crown pierces the storm vault of the sky.

Millennia ago, when Yggdravia was still part of the solid earth, Drasilgard was considered a flourishing trading post. Merchants from all directions brought their goods, and the wealth of the city was renowned far and wide. But when the realm broke apart and rose into the sky, the old trade routes ran dry. The Stone Giants, however, did not give up – they spanned bridges of rock, wood, and rope across the chasms between the floating islands. Hundreds of meters long, swaying in the wind, these bold constructions now connect the individual cities of Yggdravia.

But the ascension also brought the curse of war. When the land was hurled into the heavens, Yggdrasil pierced the most sacred shrine of the Cloud Giants: a well filled with liquid starlight. Now its radiance seeps slowly into the ground, and the Cloud Giants blame the Stone Giants. The soil has absorbed the drops of the source and has changed the inhabitants of Yggdravia over centuries. Once they were like all other Stone Giants, but now they have grown – taller, stronger, and more resilient than any other giant kin. Today, they even tower above the Storm Giants, who once were considered the greatest of all. What was once a miracle has now become the cause of an endless conflict – and Drasilgard stands at the center of this feud, unyielding but surrounded by enemies.
