Final Preparations in Waterdeep
After The Deam had returned from their mission in Springwater and on Cinderpeak Island to Waterdeep, they made a delightful discovery. Their tavern manager, Pidlwick II, had hired two extraordinary bards who spread the heroic deeds of the Deam and their adventures throughout the entire kingdom. Gilderoy and Eirene Velouris, two elves with musical and magical talent, amazed the audience. Among their greatest works are "The Dragon Heist", "The Ballad of Midwinters Festival" and "The Deams Descent to Hell". Half of Waterdeep gathered to listen to these outstanding bards, celebrated the Deam and left plenty of gold for the tavern.
The Night Before the Battle
On the night before the final battle, the Deam made their way to the field camp. Together with Lady Laeral, Malgus Schwarzfeder, Uthliz and others, they discussed the battle plan for the following day. After the discussion, Elyndra returned from Oribos with a message from Thereon Aelnor for FEND. Thereon had noticed an unusual detail on the emblem with the head of the purple dragon that the city guard wore. He identified a strange brand mark on the dragon’s eye, oddly shaped.
With this realization, the Deam could finally solve the great mystery and expose the true enemy. The brand mark matched exactly the symbol of the magic shop of Pumat Sol, The Arcane Eye. This revealed that Pumat Sol — Zephyr Solvyrth — had been behind everything from the very beginning. He was the one who turned Strahd von Zarovich into a vampire and kidnapped Tatyana. At the same time, he planted clues to incriminate Lemuria and ignite the conflict between Barovia and Lemuria.
On one hand, he politically supported Lemuria, donating parts of his wealth for weapons and armor. On the other, he secretly supplied Barovia with weapons smuggled through Oribos and the Bilgewater Cartel. Pumat placed the three purple crystals in Waterdeep, Oribos and Castle Ravenloft, triggering conflicts to harvest souls for his ultimate liberation. For over a hundred years, Pumat manipulated everyone like chess pieces, placing them exactly where he needed them for his plan.
Armed with this knowledge, the Deam confronted Pumat. He tried to talk his way out, but they had finally exposed him. Cornered, he teleported away.
The Deam, now accompanied by Tatyana, went to Strahd’s camp to prevent the impending war. Elyndra made an impressive entrance, flying them into the camp and sweeping aside the command tent. In conversation with Strahd, they found common interests. Strahd, recognizing the true enemy, agreed to act together. Together they devised a cunning plan to lure Pumat out of hiding.
The Final Battle
At dawn, the armies of Lemuria and Barovia stood facing each other. Strahd gave the order to attack, but only the zombies and skeletons of his army advanced. The soldiers of Lemuria stood opposite them, and a skirmish began. However, it quickly became clear that none of the humans on Lemuria’s side died — the zombie army did not attack at all.
This unexpected turn enraged Pumat Sol, who was observing the battle from afar. When he noticed that no souls were flowing into the crystals, he descended onto the battlefield in a rage. His voice thundered:
“NO! Decades… decades of planning! I manipulated you pathetic pawns like chess pieces, placed you exactly where I wanted you. You will NOT ruin my perfect plan. This battle WILL happen — even if I HAVE TO DESTROY YOU MYSELF!”
He then opened a massive gate and unleashed his mighty army of Draconian Dreadnoughts and other draconic creatures. The true battle began.
The armies of Lemuria and Barovia united under the leadership of the Deam and fought together against Pumat’s forces. Although Pumat was severely wounded, he overexerted himself. In his desperation, he cast a meteor swarm, costing countless lives and charging the crystals with enough energy to resurrect Zephyr Solvyrth. Three colossal energy beams struck Pumat, unleashing his full power.
In a brief but decisive moment, FEND used the Energy Absorber, a device given to him by his mentor, to siphon off part of this energy and redirect it to Oribos.
Despite their efforts, Zephyr Solvyrth was resurrected. Exhausted and without resources, the Deam fought tirelessly and held their ground, even in the face of death. Just as all hope seemed lost, reinforcements arrived.
The city of Oribos advanced onto the battlefield in all its splendor. Riding on four massive mechanical legs and protected by a dome-like barrier, it moved with astonishing speed to support the Deam. The heroes were brought into the city, where they manned the arcane cannons and unleashed their full firepower against Zephyr. In the end, they defeated him and sealed his essence within the Ring of the Ravenqueen.
After the Battle
With the end of the war, the kingdoms began to rebuild. Lemuria stood without a royal house. Its coat of arms, depicting Bahamut, symbolized the will of the platinum dragon. The Deam had proven themselves as bearers of Bahamut’s will. Thus, Lady Laeral declared the House Dragonheart the new rightful royal family of Lemuria.
A mysterious monk appeared to Franziskus in a dream and helped him recover the magical mug of beer and its activation word “Dwergan Dun”.
Evil was defeated, and the kingdom — and perhaps the entire world — was saved thanks to the heroic deeds of the Deam. Bards everywhere now sang of their courage and spread their legend far and wide.
